Hello my dear Steemit friends, today I'm gonna talk with you about kyoto, Japan.
As many people know, Kyoto has more than 1, 200 years long history and is regarded by the Japanese as a spiritual home town. In the ancient time, the religion of Buddhism and Taoism were spreading in Japan and blending with native Japanese religion Shinto.
There are many zen temples in the foothills around Kyoto, which are surrounded by green mountains. There are not many visitors going to the temples, so the temples in the mountains are all so quiet, visitors can spend the whole day to practice spiritual.
Most Japanese temples' hall are open by three sides, they use the empty space bringing out the beauty of natural. Most temples still use the simple paper window, and no Buddhist status, mostly just hang a Chinese calligraphy which is "Buddha", or zen poems.
In the courtyard, along with the four seasons, the spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the landscape also changes, in the spring meeting the cherry blossoms, in the summer surrounded by green, in autumn watching the maple leaf dye forest, in winter watching plum blossoms fall in the snow.
![IMG_2438.JPG](Unlike in Europe, Japanese courtyard focuses on natural beauty, they don't do perfect gardening. Their architectural aesthetic is "the nature and man unites as one".
This feeling of life and seasons made the Japanese form their particular aesthetic consciousness which called mono-no-awares. It also influenced on Japanese Buddhism.
Thank you for reading! If you want to read more abour my journey in Japan, please follow me.
