Acapulco Adventures: Dry for the Election

Today was a federal election here in Mexico and things have been interesting around the city the past few days to say the very least. Apparently there used to be a federal law that said the entire country was to be dry (that is no alcohol sales for the weekend before the election). This led to the city being a ghost town to say the least. These photos were taken at the beginning of the ban. The rule is no longer federal but down to local districts and apparently Acapulco is one that chooses to be dry for this event.

Things are done very differently here everything from the voting locations being on the side of the road to how elections are done in general.

No idea who the winner was!
