Once my friend Maxi arrived in Bogotá we where ready to move on! - So I decided to visit my friend Alex in Villavicencio (ca 3 hours south east from the capital)

I knew him from back home (Playa del Carmen, México), because he was my Airbnb guest there once and we stayed pretty close friends ever since :)

So we arrived at his house at night and decided to go to Lejanías by car together with Maxi and Diego (Alexs' roomie)the very next morning!

One thing that I love about traveling with locals is that they always know the secret places - this is one of them!

Piscinas de Guejar are several natural pools, slides and jacuzzis that are based along the river Guape. Tourism started here recently as people are just starting to discover the south of Colombia and its beauty!

Until 2016 it was impossible for tourists to get there as it was still the base of the Guerrillas and nobody was allowed to cross that territory.

So from Lejanías we took a Jeep which brought us along a bumby road with beautiful view and first impressions of the river towards the Finca El Diamante.

The nature on the way is already pretty impressive!

So getting to Finca El Diamante we got to know our guide for today that would go with us, so we don´t get lost in this amazingly big area!

The finca is located on top of the hill with a beautiful view. It is close to all the important sites around like: Piscinas del Guejar, the natural Jacuzzis and the Waterfalls: Cascadas de caño Lajón.

They also offer a little restaurant, a camping zone and cabañas to rent, if somebody wants to stay longer! Unfortunately we didn´t have the time for that but I recommend everybody to do it!! For more infos click here

Arriving at the first waterfall I was just blown away!!! - Of course we jumped right into the water and climbed around everywhere (one thing you just couldn´t do in Europe) ;)

I felt like being at some scenery of the next shampoo comercial getting under this awesome waterfall :D

From there we just slided down to the next pool on the rocks... it was pretty slippery so that was probably the less dangerouse way to move around :D

After chilling in that pool and getting tainted we slided right to the next one and enjoyed a bit the cool, clean water on that hot sunny day.

The water there is really deep so you can jump in from pretty much everywhere! - Once you are in the water, our guide would throw a rope for us to grab, and pull us out :) - Lots of fun!!

After that we went to our last stop on the tour. Another, different pool to swim, jump into the water and freshen up.

A lot of people from the village where here chilling too. They told us, that most of them never had heard of this beautiful place and they are happy to finally be able to enjoy it!

We had a really great day out there in the jungle of Colombia!! - I am glad that we went to see this special place with so much privacy! I guess there are not many secret places left on earth with this beauty and security, so I feel thankful for that experience. Hopefully it can stay that way :)

I hope you enjoyed the post and as always I appreciate your Upvotes, Resteems & Comments, because you are supporting my trip with it!

Cheers,
Liz
