My three favorite photos from a road trip through Namibia

Finally ready to post pictures from Namibia; which is now at the top of my list as one of the coolest places I've ever been ❤️ Honestly, a huge portion of it was spent sitting in the car, but driving through the (second) least densely populated country in the world where we saw more wild animals than people, watching the vast and surreal landscapes change and the stars come out each night was such a unique experience. Something about this particularly difficult-to-access spot in the desert had been calling me for years, so finally being there was a huge bucket-list check. So grateful I had the opportunity and time off to get there 🙏🏻

PSA: if you're going to Namibia, do NOT rent a car like this! Get a 4x4. Luckily we met a kind local who, after seeing what we were driving, advised us that if we followed Google Maps our little "Carolai" wouldn't make it. With this route we still had to floor it at least twice to make it through some sand pits and even had to get out of the car to smooth out the sand road with our feet, but eventually we got to where we were going. My new goal is to learn how to drive a manual so I can rent the appropriate car no matter where I am! 🤦🏼‍♀️Americans usually only know how to drive automatic... anyone else ever been in this predicament??

The desert is absolutely magical. The sand is bright orange and the sky is neon blue. The sunrise over the sand dunes and the trees that were once at the bottom of a lake create a very surreal vibe.

And what can I say about an abandoned car lot? Actually these were found at a gas station, about 3 hours from the nearest town in any direction.
