While I was staying in Osaka I visited my good friend Tokuhiko Kise of TRUCK Furniture on the outskirts of Osaka, Japan. TRUCK was founded in Osaka by designers Tokuhiko Kise and Hiromi Karatsu back in 1997, with their design ethos being to make furniture that they would like to own themselves, regardless of fashion or trend, with items taking on a simplistic but handcrafted style.
The workshop itself is on the lower ground to the left, everything here is made by hand by a team of dedicated woodworkers, and above the workshop is where they are able to show off all the work and sell a selection of a lifestyle items to compliment. They also own a coffee shop named BIRD Coffee on the right as you walk in, a lovely place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Today I wanted to highlight some imagery from inside their showroom, but I did also take some of the woodworkers and the cafe that I will upload tomorrow. I hope you like these photos from inside their shop and will check out their website on the link below, you're sure to be inspired.
