Green Yellow sea of China.

The name Qingdao literally means "green island" and is located in the East of Shandong province, on the shore of the Yellow sea. There are beaches that are very popular among the Chinese. In summer it attracts hundreds of tourists to swim and have fun.

In the summer the coastline of the Yellow sea from time immemorial, is colored in green. This – bloom algae. If ten years ago the workers coped with cleaning the beaches, now it is problematic to do – too much space the water takes a green mass. In July 2013, according to the local branch of the State Oceanographic administration of China, algae covered more than 8800 square kilometers of coastal waters. For the month of June from the coast was removed more than 240 tonnes of green algae.


Many tourists do not like this situation and they just lie on the beach or swim in the hotel pools. But some tourists specially come to Qingdao to dive into the green sea soup, play and take photos for memory. And some believe that this procedure is useful for the body.


For agricultural workers – such natural phenomenon "at hand". Green algae is not poisonous. The peasants gladly purchase seaweed for fertilizer and animal feed.
