STEEM B&B? - IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING?

What happens when you travel and know people in every city in the world?

Soon, we may be able to answer just that question. The larger that the steemit community grows and the more users that join us, the more diverse our community becomes as well. The more we interact and hare with one another, the more friends that we have all over the world. Suddenly, there are people from every nation that know us and are willing to "roll out the red carpet" for us if we are ever in their area. This is a peculiar scenario indeed!

I've made the joke periodically to @bluerthangreen that if @papa-pepper ever needed to flee the United States, at least I would know people wherever I went. A joke, to be sure, and exaggerated a bit too, but still, the concept is not that far from becoming reality.

AIR B&B

Many of you may be familiar with "AIR B&B". According to Wikipedia:

Airbnb is an online marketplace and hospitality service, enabling people to lease or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms.

Truly, there is not that much preventing us steemians from doing the same. Say you have a spare bedroom in a city that is a well-known travel destination. What is to prevent you from allowing other steemians to spend the night when they are in town and pay you in STEEM, for a fraction of what an over-priced hotel would cost? We have our own community and currency that bonds us together now, and the potential perks of that are incredible.

Currently, the @papa-pepper tribe is about to head down to the home of @xtrodinarypilot & @xtdnrymompreneur in Texas. Just like when dropped in on @dwells & @essentialoilmom on Sunday, this is another couple that we have only "met" on steemit. Yet, they are another couple willing to have "people form the internet" over, both times on very short notice. I only suggested to @xtrodinarypilot that perhaps we could drop by on Sunday night, and now on Tuesday, we should be arriving.

This time, the steemians that we are meeting are in another state, and we will be spending the night. So far as I know, there will not be charging us (but this post may give them some ideas).

C'MON DOWN

So then, when kind and friendly people from all over "know" who you are, and may even be willing to have you over or spend the night, it really makes things easier on you if you travel. I honestly think that if I wanted to take my family on a cross country road trip, we could plan a course and only stay at the homes of steemians. How wild would that be?

Anyway, I can't wait to get back to Texas and meeting the family of @xtrodinarypilot & @xtdnrymompreneur in person will be incredible. These are truly interesting times to be a steemian, and I am impressed with the things that this platform and community are creating in my life. I honestly do consider a lot of you to be my actual friends, and we are seeing that played out more and more in real life as time goes on.

Perhaps after I build my family a house I'll build a guest house too, and list it on steemgigs as a STEEM B&B!!! I'll see you in Texas!
