But the main attraction is the Amer Fort 11km from Jaipur. It considered World Heritage of Unesco since 2013

Amber Fort is a mix between Mughal and Rajput architecture. Made up of marble and sandstone in 1592 from the remains of 11th century. Nowadays is one of the most visited in India. (Do note that during the tourist seasons it is very busy because the traffic jams. Elephant rides are allowed only the morning).

This fort has four courtyards, palaces, gardens and halls. From the entrance the primary courtyard (Jaleb Chowk) in this part of the fort there was the parade of king's soldiers.

Some few steps and you have the Shila Devi Temple where the sacrifices where part of the temple rituals.

Keep going inside the fort through the staircase there is the second level with the entrance of Ganesh Pol.

The second courtyard owns the Diwan-e-Aam (the house of Public Audience) with its pillars.
And the third courtyard has the Mughal gardens and two buildings the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) and the Sukh Mandir (Hall of pleasure

The third courtyard include the Palace of Man Singh I the oldest part of the fort. In the central part of its courtyard is located the Baradari Pavillon.

The fourth courtyard is where Royal women used to live. With many rooms queens resided who were visited by the king.
To conclude I would talk about the Jantar Mantar the biggest and most preserved in whole India. Architectural astronomical instruments built in the early 18th century. Another World heritage of Unesco located in Jaipur.

CIMG6759.JPG

It is an observatory that operates in different coordinate system to allow the naked eye to see astronomical positions.

CIMG6772.JPG

CIMG6770.JPG

It is a symbol of calculation of time, dimensions, and astrological forecast. It is part of Ptolemaic tradition which was shared by different civilizations

CIMG6774.JPG

Precise calculations according to sunlight is very impressive for me.
