This post talk to you about an international fair in northern-west of Italy. In a small town called Alba. The town of "Ferrero" the factory of Nutella. The Area of Alba is known also for its local truffles. A very strong-smelled fungi which looks like a rough-skinned potato. They are usually found closer to tree roots thanks to the aid of trained dogs.
Their smell is unique and unmistakable. You should smell it. Somebody does not like it. Actually I love it!! Yes it is individual!
This fair is not only about truffles. The day of my visit was last 15th of October. From 10am onwards the old town was surrounded by some scenes to remind middle ages times. The idea is to associate history and tradition with local food and wine. Combine past and present summarized in one day event. I found it very attractive.
It is a big celebration and if the beautiful weather attracted more people. Sometimes it was not easy to take picture but the environment was impressive.

Eating boiled cornmeal with braised meat in Barolo redwine and boiled carrots. A typical local dish.
And some cakes with local Dolcetto a typical sweet wine for dessert.
In many stands it is also possible to try for free some wine and food. On the way I found delicious honey tasting
