''A City a story” photo contest #11: HOUSES IN THE CITY OF ABEOKUTA

Helo steemians, this is my entry to the city story contest organised by @aaronli and today I will be telling you a story about the city of Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nigeria.

You will also be seeing lots of pictures, both beautiful and not so houses in Abeokuta. I will love to take you round Abeokuta with this single post so grab a bowl of pop corn and enjoy the views.

Abeokuta is the largest city in the south western part of Nigeria. It was founded in 1830 and occupies a square area of 879km square. It has a population of about 451,607 people. There are a lot of interesting things about Abeokuta and its indigenes but for the purpose of this contest, I will be showing you structures in the city of Abeokuta, particularly HOUSES in Abeokuta which includes commercial and residential houses.

OPIC TOWERS...

This is a commercial building. OPIC means Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation. They are a real estate organization. They engage in the development and sales of estates for commercial and residential purposes. This is currently the tallest building in the city of Abeokuta with 10 floors. Though a taller one is still under construction. It is anticipated to have over 16 floors.

MITROS RESIDENCES...

This is one of the mini resorts developed by OPIC. It is a resort made up of chalets, restaurant, hall, swimming pool, swimming pool lounge, kitchen, studio apartments etc. from the pictures you would agree with me that it is a very beautiful place to be and its cozy atmosphere is astonishing.

UNCOMPLETED COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS...

I wouldn't call these houses beautiful because they are not. But if you come visiting the city of Abeokuta, be prepared because these are the kind of residential houses you will behold.
