The View From Where We Stayed In Sasebo - Highlights of Traveling In Japan

Our Asia journey began with a visit to friends in Sasebo. This was the longest we stayed in any one city during our travels.

Our friends John and Lara were amazing hosts. They taught us some basic Japanese and showed us the coolest parts of the city. They have a beautiful view from their place in Sasebo.

The white building in near the bottom of the panoramas is an elementary school for Japanese children. The kids attend school 6 days a week and wear color coded hats and backpacks.

It was nice to experience the quieter, less touristy parts of Japan. Sasebo was a pleasant city. I felt as though I got a good glimpse of what life is like for the Japanese that don't live in the big cities like Tokyo.

Michelle and I recently took a month to travel across Japan and China. It was epic! Follow me @slickwilly and Michelle @curiouser for posts about our adventures!
