This temple of Dogap-sa was said to be built by the Great Monk Doseon.
The monk 'Doseon' was very famours for his prophesy.
He foretold the birth of the first king of Goryeo dynasty. At that time, political situation in Korean peninsular was in a chaos. Shilla dynasty unified Korean peninsular had been weakening gradually, finally its political influence did not reach out to the local area. Powerful local areas had competed for the political hegemony. In this turmoil, the lives of people were deteriorated.
All people wanted the savior appear and terminate those turmoil with eager. At that moment, the great monk prophesied the birth of the savior, ant his prediction was proved as the truth.
So, this temple was very well took cared by Goryoe Dynasty.
But it seemed that this temple was not so flourished, Goryeo kingdom owed this temple to building its dynasty though.
As passing through the entrance gate, I could see the panoramic scene of the temple.
Actually the buildings were not so splendid but humble comparing with other temples.
But the scenery with setting sun was so awesome.
The impressive feature in this temple at first glance was the stone stupa. It seemed to be made in Goryeo dynasty according to its style. The balance of the stupa told us its building era of the early Goryeo dynasty.
I photographed the scenes of the temple.
Even though there was not extinguish architectures in this temple, the sunlight of evening made the temple amazing.
Especially the side wall of the auditorium with the dust was so stunning.
I sat there and was looking at the sunshine on the wall with listening the evening bell.
