The Saddest History In Choson Dynasty And Cheongryeongpo Area

It was a second day when we visited Cheongrueongpo Area which was well known for the exile place for Danjong the 6th king.

Danjong was the grandson of the Great King Sejong, as I posted before he invented Korean Alphabet Hanguel.

Danjong was a son of the first son(king Munjong) of King Sejong.
Munjong had a health problem and died young.

His son Danjong succeeded king’s reign at 11 years old.
At that time his uncle wanted to become a king.

Finally king Danjons’s uncle did a coup and seized political power.
King Danjong was sent to the exile in Cheonryeongpo in Gangwondo province far from Seoul.

Chdongreyongpo looked an island of land, even today we needed to take a ship to get there.
Behind of Cheongryeongpo was covered with high mountains and there was no way to get in Cheongryeongpo.

Theres was a stone warning signal "never get closer here"

The reason we went to Cheongryeongpo was for taking photos of flowers of azalea.
They told me the azaleas in cheongryeongpo were so beautiful.
When I heard of the azalea’s beauty in cheongryeongpo, it reminded me the death of King Danjong.

King Danjong was killed in the age of 16 years old by his uncle.

Everybody was busy to take the photos of flowers, meanwhile I walked around the house of King Danjong where he had lived for his last years.

Queen of King Danjong at same age of King Danjong had lived for her all life with courtesy bowing to the direction of cheongryeongpo for dead king Danjong.

So it was the saddest love history in korean history.

The resident place of King Danjong was humble. I took the some photos of house.

There I found the interesting thing. The pines leaned slightly to the east.

The east direction was Seoul where his queen had waited for him.
