Xitou means the origin of the river (Beishi River) and it is located in Nantou county in the middle of Taiwan. It is a popular tourist destination, particularly in the summer because it is a nice place to get away from the heat. There are many hiking trails and beautiful bamboo lanes in the 2500 hectare recreation area. Here are a few photos from my trip to Xitou a few years ago.
