Hi my dear Steemit friends ❤
I'm so grateful to be chosen as a representative of the University of Hong Kong to participate in the "One Belt One Road Strategy Study Camp" held by Fudan University in Shanghai. 🎉 Together with the representatives of Taiwan and Macau, I've learnt a lot about this marvellous project aiming at promoting connection and cooperation between Eurasian countries. In today's Travel with Me episode I'm taking you to Shanghai!!
What would come to your mind when you think of Shanghai? Modern skyscrapers? Old buildings? Well, if you've been to Hong Kong, you'd know that they can co-exist in a city, sometimes even adjacent to each other. 🕌What are you waiting for? Come with me and explore this colourful and vibrant city together!
Welcome Dinner at Fudan University- wearing STEEMIT T-SHIRT and introducing Steemit to my teammates!
1. Tian Zi Fang
Tian Zi Fang is my favourite place in Shanghai so far. It is famous for craft stores, coffee shops, trendy art studios and bars. Look at the the exquisite HAND-MADE notebook I've just brought! There're dried flowers not only on the cover, but also in the pages of the notebook. 🌸How beautiful and delicate!
And here's the dried-flower album. 🌾As pretty as the notebook, isn't it?
How could I introduce Chinese craft without mentioning traditional Chinese-styled PAPER-CUTS? ✂️ This guy's sooo talented that he could "cut "a photo for you! The price was reasonable (~3 USD), and it's definitely a nice and special souvenir for either yourself or your friends!
INTERESTING FACT: Tian Zi Fang has developed from a renovated traditional residential area in the French Concession area of Shanghai. 🗿This area is an example of preservation of local Shikumen ("stone gate") architecture.
Tian Zi Fang never fails to surprise me. Look at this- THE LIBRARY OF TASTES!! 📚
The "books" are actually food!! 🍮 Most of them are Shanghai specialties. Aren't they unique enough to be your souvenirs? :)
I bought this, Love in a Fallen City written by the famous Shanghainese writer Ai Ling ZHANG. The food inside is Jasmine Jelly. How beautiful and meaningful it is! 🌹
If it's not special enough, how about THE LIPSTICK ACADEMY ? 💄They mix colours to create lipsticks according to their customers' own preference. Look at the colours!! Can you distinguish them? Honestly I can't ;p
And I'm sure you'd be attracted by these :
No tourist spot is perfect without FOOD ;ppp You can either spend hours trying mouthwatering street food or sit in a comfy bar to enjoy the music and your life :) 🎶
2. Hong Kong Plaza
As a Hong Konger, I'd like to see how Hong Kong is like in the eyes of Shanghainese. To my surprise, the shopping mall K11 is in perfect Hong Kong style!!
Say cheese!
說 cheese!
I STRONGLY recommend the SOFTREE ice cream shop 🍦, their cheese ice cream is the best (on seasonal menu)!! The cheese matches perfectly with the ice cream, and it's an enjoyment feeling the fresh cheese melt in my mouth 😌
3. Nanjing Road Walkway
Shopping in a morden mall is not your cup of tea? Then you have to visit the NANJING ROAD WALKWAY!! Like many other areas in Shanghai, the street looks completely different during the day and night.
The History of Nanjing Road can be traced back to 1845. Now, it's become one of the busiest shopping streets in the world.

FACT CORNER: In 1937, a bomb was dropped on Nanjing Road by a Chinese plane trying to lighten its load while being pursued by Japanese planes. The bomb hit two department stores, injuring 482 people and killing 612.
Though Shanghai is regarded as a relatively young city in China, its pace of development has surprised the world. If you want some adventure, I definitely suggest you visiting Shanghai! I guess I'd stop here. Let me share more of my adventure with you next time! :)
