Elephant Sanctuary close to Chiang Mai, Thailand

Hi! I'm Francisco and I like to Travel.

Me and my friends wanted to spend the day with the Elephants since it's one of the attractions in Chiang Mai but we were advised to choose carefully because some places mistreated this beautiful mammals.
After some research we decided to go to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary where everything seemed like the elephants were treated respectfully.

After an initial briefing where they handed out handmade traditional shirts, claiming that the elephants feel more comfortable if they know the smell, we went to meet our new friends and feed them some Sugar Canes and Bananas.

After this we went to take a mud bath with the elephants! They love rolling around in the mud. But now they were all dirty! So we had to go wash them in the river which was the funniest part of the day!

A bit before sunset it was time to go back to our hostel and let our new friends rest.
It was such a wonderful experience! If you are in the area and you want to visit this amazing creatures please go to a place where they treat them with the respect they deserve! :)
