Take-Off to Dubai in an A380

The Airbus A380 is the biggest commercial airplane in the world at the moment. In an economy-only configuration it can seat over 800 people at once. Unfortunately it's not a very efficient airplane, this is why many airlines have opted for other manufacturers or models and not so long ago there was even talk within Airbus to stop production if they wouldn't get any new orders. Then Emirates stepped in and placed an order for another 36 planes.

Emirates already has the biggest fleet of A380's with 104 currently in service. So that would bring their total to 140 once this delivery is completed. Besides it being the biggest commercial plane, it is also luxuriously decorated, especially when you fly with Emirates. They even have showers in First Class.

Flying in an Airbus A380 has been a little wish and something that must've been an amazing experience. This dream became reality when we flew to (and from) our holiday via Dubai to the Maldives (and back). Being on board this fantastic piece of aviation history is already very special, but experiencing the flight itself was something else.

I filmed us taking off from Zürich to Dubai and I've never experienced anything that smooth, if you didn't look out of the window, you wouldn't have known that we were airborne. On the background you hear my wife and father-in-law talking about how smooth the take-off is.

I hope you all get to experience this at some point in your life.
