Discover Serbia No3 - Divčibare (photo/video story)

Third post in Discover Serbia series. This week we will visit Divčibare.

We visited Divčibare for new year as we all could get few days off and it could be connected with weekend.

About Divčibare:

Divčibare is a town and mountain resort situated on the mountain Maljen (1104 m) in western Serbia. It is a highland, surrounded by several peaks and saddles. It usually has 3-4 months of snow (not this year). It is just 115km from Belgrade so it is a popular resort.

We rented a cabin for 4 days. First day we had some snow.

Highest peak is Crni vrh, at 1098m. The climb is not that hard, and the view is really nice.

Next day it was +9C so all the snow was gone, and the dream of skiing gone with it. But hiking was great.

Divčibare is a fun 2 -3 days trip, it is mostly an easy hike, so you don't have to be skilled and prepared. Any hiking equipment is good to have, but not necessary. All i had are winter boots and thermos with tea and rum :)
In town you have few restaurants with great traditional food.

If you want to visit there is bunch of cabins for rent, and i think you will not have problems to find some even if you just show up without reservation.

There is a ski slope with cable car and if needed they use snow machines, but the temperature was just to high.

If you like the photos, check the video. And don't film with 85mm lens without a stabiliser :D
