Urbex in Yangon's Abandoned Amusement Park: Part 2

I love urban exploring and in this post series I take you to the abandoned amusement park in Yangon, Myanmar's most populous city. Make sure to start reading at the first part!

The highlight of the amusement park is an abandoned rollercoaster that takes you high up in the sky - on foot, that is. Parts of the rollercoaster are overgrown by vegetation, but the steel seems solid and walking on the track of the rollercoaster offers some spectacular views over the amusement park.

Apart from classical amusement park rides such as the rollercoaster and boxcars, there are some interesting rides such as this futuristic round bicycle:

People are living at the edge of the park, but apart from curious tourists, nobody dares to visit this place - some say that it is haunted. This does not stop packs of stray dogs that inhabit many corners of Yangon from strolling around the park and angrily bark at anyone daring to get close to them. Ever since I was bitten by a pack of street dogs in Bolivia some years ago, I am very careful with dogs, and so I turned around and kept my distance when they barked at me.

Apart from dogs, the amusement park is said to be inhabited by snakes (I didn't see any) and by mosquitoes (I saw a lot!), so make sure to wear solid footwear, long clothes and mosquito repellent when you visit. In my third post about the abandoned amusement park in Yangon I will finally tell you how to get there, so stay tuned!
