Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I would like to show you another beautiful Czech spa town, the town of Marianske Lazne.

Located in the Karlovy Vary Region in the westernmost part of the country, Marianske Lazne is a historic town whose very origins date back to as early as the late 12th century but the spa is relatively young – it was developed at the beginning of the 19th century.

Currently home to some 13,000 people, the town is also notable for impressive architecture dating back to different eras but the most admired buildings come from the 19th century when numerous famous politicians, artists and other prominent people from all over Europe came to enjoy the healing powers of the town and built their houses there.
Marianske Lazne and its close vicinity boast exactly 100 springs with different chemical composition, making it a great place to heal various ailments and illnesses.

Once you get enough of the springs and the picturesque colonnades found in the town´s historic center, head out to explore the beautiful surrounding nature. The town is situated very close to the Slavkov Forest, a protected natural area frequented by hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
