Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
With the current heatwave still strongly gripping most Europe, including the Czech Republic, I decided to show you another great place to cool yourself down, the Rozkos Dam - also known as the "Eastern Bohemian Sea".

Located just outside of the town of Ceska Skalice in the Hradec Kralove Region, the Rozkos Dam is - with a total surface area of more than 1,000 ha - the eighth largest dam in the country.
Completed in 1961, the dam was originally built as a part of an anti-flooding system in the area but these days, it mainly serves as a popular recreation spot. Visitors can choose from a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, wild swimming, boating, camping etc. The complex also includes a paintball field, a mini-golf course, saunas, water slides and much more.

The surrounding landscape is covered with a network of great hiking and bike trails, some of which lead all the way up to the Babicka Valley, a popular natural landmark and a setting of one the most famous Czech books called "Babicka" (translates as "The Grannie").
