Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I would like to take you to another beautiful Czech chateau, the famous Sychrov Chateau.

Located in the northern part of the country, some 16 km (10 mi) outside the city of Liberec, the Sychrov Chateau is a large chateau complex that was built in the second half of the 19th century.
Originally, a Gothic fortress was standing at the site of the chateau. However, the fortress was completely destroyed in a war and it was later turned into a Baroque chateau. The chateau was then reconstructed in the Classicistic style and, eventually, between 1847 and 1862, the noble Rohan family had it transformed into its current appearance of an opulent Gothic Revival chateau.

Open to public since 1950, the chateau hosts extensive collections of artworks, paintings, decorated glassware and much more. The park is surrounded by impressive, well-maintained parks that are home to trained birds of prey such as falcons, eagles and buzzards that perform tricks for visitors.
The majestic architecture of the chateau and the picturesque natural surroundings have inspired numerous artists, painters and composers in their work. The Schyrov Chateau also hosts several important annual cultural events and concerts.
