Here's my submission for this week's Trial by Comics contest!
POLIS: The Trial of Socrates
A historical graphic novel that examines the events leading up to the trial and execution of Socrates in ancient Athens.
The following is a spread of two pages that I'm particularly proud of. Two armies have just attempted to take the high ground of a hill for a coming battle. The democratic exiles recently landed in the Athenian port to retake the city from the oligarchic puppet government installed by the Spartans. The democrats have beaten the opposing army to the top of the hill.
Now, before the hoplite battle begins, each side sucks up to their favorite god.
