Things aren't what they used to be.

His name was Theodore, named Tedy for his mother and Theo for his children and grandchildren. He really hated that, people should just call him by his real name.

Theodore.

Not Tedy.

Not Theo.

Only Theodore.

Maybe it was his age that made him feel mad most of the time. That or the fact that he felt that each day that the world was degrading more and more.

Maybe it was a mixture of both.

Theodore watched around him. Sat on that old bench in that park that saw him grow up.

Remembering that his first date was in that wonderful place, the fresh air, the sound of the wind and the smell of the flowers.

All that being completely ignored by people today.

He fixed his eyes on a young man who was kissing a girl with passion while his hand was around his waist and thus joining his hips to the opposite.

Theodore isn't one of those old people who criticize everything. That wasn't what bothered him.

That boy a week ago was in the same position in that same place with another girl.

That was not the worst.

Two weeks ago the situation was similar. With the difference that instead of a girl there was another boy.

No, Theodore isn't one of those who criticize the sexuality of others. happiness is where you find it. That was his universal thought.

What disturbed him was the impertinence and cynicism of that young man.

In his time that couldn't happen.

Trying to distract himself with something else, he pulled out his somewhat crumpled newspaper.

He was grateful that newspapers still existed. After the internet everything was digital. Theodore feared the day when the paper will cease to exist.

Considering the technological advance, that day was seen closer than far.

He opened his newspaper and the first ad in red letters surprised him.

"for only 60.000,00$ we will send you in a travel time"

For a second he thought it was a joke, a few minutes later he thought about whether there really was a possibility that it was real.

He had enough money saved to pay for anything, even if he was cheated, it would be worth the pain in some way.

He remembered how he used to run in that same park more than fifty years ago.

As the flowers that no longer existed were watered and cared by the community and like those fences that at present were worn and careless, they were hand painted every three months to preserve them.

He remembered how things were appreciated not because of their price but because of the value they really had.

Lost in his memories Theodore thought on his old 1960 Mustang that his father had given him for his eighteenth birthday.

That car that couldn't even turn on. A car that he dedicated five years of his life for its reconstruction.

When he was in full operation he couldn't enjoy it for a long time, a year later he got married and the children came. When he didn't use it much, he ended selling it for half of the real price.

Those memories depressed him, he loved his family but sometimes he imagined a world where he would have enjoyed every second of his youth.

Determined to go to that thing in time travel Theodore got up with the help of the impulse of his walking stick and went to the exit of the park with the goal in mind to enjoy what was lost.

Halfway down the pace of his steps was reduced by pain in his spine and right knee.

He stopped immediately when he realized how stupid he was.

Travel in time

That implied that he would be himself but in the past.

At his age he couldn't run through that beautiful park much less drive his precious Mustang at high speed on deserted trails.

Reality enveloped him with a bitter feeling.

The most he would get with luck would be a heart attack in the middle of the trip.

Theodore saw the crumpled newspaper in his left hand and he wished never read it before.

Maybe the world is moving forward in a way never before imagined.

Maybe time travel is possible.

But there is something that even with hundreds of years of evolution man couldn't achieve.

He will never be the same as before.

Remove from your mind all that you have lived, all the experiences and be again an inexperienced young.

If one day that will be achieved, Theodore hoped to have died rather than witness such an atrocity.

With that in mind Theodore threw the crumpled newspaper into a dumpster.

Here is my entry to this week :) it would have been more happy but LA KELLOGG'S SE VA DEL PAIS NOJODA >:'c
