The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has the sole power and authority to issue currency within the territory of the Philippines.
It may call in for replacement of notes of any series or denomination which are more than 10 years old.
The Bangko Sentral maintains the integrity of the Philippine Peso. It has the authority to investigate, make arrests, conduct searches and seizures to maintain the integrity of the currency.

In the collaboration of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, they are launching the New Generation Currency Coin Series with the partnership of The University of the Philippines and Northern Samar Colleges. It was good to be a part of the discussion as I learned alot about the Philippine currency. BSP is launching the new faces
of coins,which I ddnt see in northern samar yet. Maybe there is already but most of them are kept because of its new design.
So those are the new faces or the new design of the coin currency in the Philippines now. As of this moment the old coins are still acceptable. There is no order yet from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to demolitized the old currency.
I am now excited to have them all.hehehe
