This model is caught stretching in a way I do in bed at least twice a day. This stretch really helps me do better and is part of a larger routine I do in bed.
Here’s how you can do this stretch too. If you do it at night, your body will be more relaxed. In the morning you will work out the kinks of sleep and be more flexible for the day to come.
Directions for this Opening Your Hip Bed Stretch
- Make your bed, or clear it off of obstructions.
- Decide if you need pillows for your head or for your legs and get them or move them if not needed.
- Lie down comfortably in your bed.
- Slide one foot up the opposite leg to a point of a comfortable stretch.
- See where your knee is and move it up and down slowly and comfortably.
- Rest your knee in a stretch – but not too far.
- Lift your knee and cross it over your body (Not pictured)
- Feel the stretch in your back. don’t push too far.
- Return your knee to the pictured position.
- Slide your foot back down to the other foot and shake it out.
Keep going
- You can repeat a few times with the same leg or alternate your legs.
- Aim for 5 repeats on each leg.
- You can vary the distance you extend your leg up and down the other leg.
- You can vary how low you sink your knee down.
- You can vary how far you drop your knee over the other leg and how much you twist your spine.
How to fit stretching in bed into your life.
- Each night before you go to sleep – stretch and relax for 5-10 minutes
- Each morning before you start your day – stretch out the kinks for 5-10 minutes
How hard is that? Do you think you can do it?

Untalented is an initiative by @surpassinggoogle and can be found on the ulogs platform he created for us. All of us have something to give, so please show us what you’ve got!
My text is inspired by the sketch done by my son @bxlphabet. I am finding so many fitness moves in these dancers who posed for his art class. We may not all be able to dance like the pros, but we can all treat our bodies to some exercise!
And please come to my blog as well @fitinfun. I am re-vamping my weight loss coaching to be more effective and you can join right in.
