Components

eSteem Surfer was just released about 12 days ago as a desktop client for Steem. It is still in beta version for us to test out the different features and to give the team continual support with ideas and suggestions to improve the app for long term use. Yesterday eSteem Surfer 1.0.1 update was released with great improvements for users.

Proposal

eSteem surfer actually has made a lot of improvement on the editing page for users to create their posts in a most user friendly way.

  • This is what I love about the editing page is that you can see the preview right next to it. Unlike the other platforms like Steemit and Busy where you need to scroll down to preview the post on the editing page, eSteem surfer has come up with a fascinating format of having both the editing and the preview side by side.

  • While everything is good and as I have been using eSteem surfer since the launch, I wish to propose a 'Perfect Alignment' between the Editing Panel and the Preview Panel.

  • Right now both sides are not coincide together when we do the proof-reading. This means that what you have on the Editing panel does not necessarily follow with the Preview panel. Each panel has its scrolling tab for individual scrolling in the different panels.

  • I want to propose an EXTRA TAB where it SYNCHRONIZES both of these scrolling. In this way when we scroll on the Editing page we can actually see what it looks like on the right side Preview panel or vice versa. And when we see that something does not look right on the preview panel, we can right away make the changes on the Editing panel in the right location without the need to scroll from the Editing panel.

Mockups / Examples

Screenshot 1

This is the nice feature of eSteem Surfer where the Editor and Preview on the same screen:

  • As you can see, both panels have their own scrolling tab.

Screenshot 2

These 2 scrollings are separate and do not synchronize together, so on the left edint panel, you see writing, and on the right preview panel, you see an image:

Screenshot 3

The following screenshot will show you what happens when the new tab "Synchronize" is added

  • Add the new Tab "S" - Synchronize on the left side of the Editor

  • When this tab is activated, both the scrolling for Editing side and the Preview side will coincide together

  • I boxed in the 2 scrolling in red - can you see that the scrolling of the Editing panel and the scrolling on the Preview Panel coincide together. They are now at the same place.

  • This means that what you see on the Editing panel is exactly in the same location of the Preview panel on the right.

Can you see how awesome this will be for Users posting via Esteem Surfer?

This will make this the #1 Posting editor for Steemit.

Benefits

The benefits of having the Synchronize Tab on the Editor:

  • Users can activate the Synchronize tab for easy proofreading!

  • When users proofread their posts which we often do before posting, we can scroll down the editing to look at the preview alongside at the same location. Right now you need to do it manually by scrolling both panels.

  • And when we see that in the preview, there is a mistake, we can right away know where to make the 'editing correction' on the left panel because the synchronized tab will show the exact location for both windows (editing and preview)

  • This saves a lot of time in proofreading where we can just make correction right away whenever we spot a mistake.
