Not so long ago I posted about trying to find a special place on my way from an appointment. Today I was fortunate enough to find it. I was also a bit surprised about the spelling on the sign; perhaps it's an old misspelling?
I took all the photos on my mobile phone and the sky was that gloomy colour; but it was dry and, yes, my car is that dirty...
Thank goodness there is a passing place so I managed to park just next to the access area.
I was really happy to climb to finally see it. My passenger, @mivstar, was not so impressed and decided to stay in the car though she took some photos of me enthusiastically surveying the site.
I found the views were really impressive and I can understand why it would be a good place to check for possible 'invaders' to the area though nowadays you feel happy if you see anyone driving around.
Apologies I couldn't get the whole sign but the word missing is Pumpsaint - a village nearby - and you can probably work out the other missing endings.
My photos do not really depict the scale that well, but luckily I have found some aerial views here that more clearly show how the stone is set on the ground.
