Today I will take you guys to the top of Mount Scenery in Saba. A beautiful hike through junglelike forests, with the most beautiful views.

Before we go on our hike, and you have never heard of the island of Saba, be sure to check out this post first of additional Saba info, which is a Caribbean island from Dutch territory.

Here is the start of the official trial in Winwardside, there is also some space to park your car here! The official hike is all stairs and steps and its a real burden on your quads. If you want to save your legs, I recommend you start you hike in the village 'The Bottom'. This hike starts at the Queens Garden Resort and is a lot more gradually

Im a lazy person from heart, ofcourse I took the more gradually option ;)))

Immediately after you start you are not able to see your starting point from civilisation anymore. Only green is surrounding you!

When getting a bit higher you can see some nice houses in the distance. Can I please live there????

Just follow the signs and the paths and you will be fine in the end!!!

And there all of a sudden, in the middle of nowhere: There was a hatch! Dont you get a major 'Lost' feeling with this??? Where is the icebear??? And the plane crash??

I did peek inside obviously, its a water storage ;))

Around ever corner there was some weird plant looking at me, dont you just love this tree?

Finally we reached the stairs. Look how steep they are. More than 1000 or these rascals would have killed me longtime dude. Im happy we took a different route

Most of the time the summit of Mount Scenery is in the clouds, as you can see.

Referring to the Vaalserberg in Holland, what most people consider as the highest point of the Dutch Kingdom, but forgetting Saba in this ons. Mount Scenery is the true highest point of the Dutch Kingdom

As you can see we remained in the clouds most of the time on the summit. Only a couple days a year these skies are chrystal clear, its really rare!

We stayed on the summit for about 15 minutes. It was also super cold (Caribbean cold wink wink) there because of the wind. Descending time!!!

On our way back we saw this strange cave. I wonder what is living inside of there.

Our total hike took about 4 hours. And what do you after an achievement like this??? Yes... first a big Coca cola and then a sizzeling beer!!!
