In various places the government has decided that cannabis services are to be considered essential services. And for one area in Michigan, known as Montcalm County, there are some cannabis advocates there who recently decided to help out during the recent crisis by giving away free bags of weed.
Any resident from Montcalm County that could prove they had previously served in the military or that they were on Social Security disability received a free quarter-ounce of cannabis.
Sometimes meeting the needs of community members doesn't look like giving away just sanitizer and masks, it also looks like giving away cannabis to those in need.
For those who might be currently unemployed it is going to be a struggle for them to keep up with trying to get what they consider to be, and use as, their own medicine. The giveaway from those advocates is a great way to help out their fellow community members in need, their actions go a long way to helping others and inspiring good.
While there are some government authorities who would seek to prevent veterans and service members from accessing cannabis and using cannabis as a viable treatment, meanwhile allowing arguably much more harmful substances to be consumed, it is important that they are given the freedom of choice if they want to seek out and use cannabis for themselves.
Those behind the recent giveaway hope that it might become a regular occurrence, now that they see how there are so many people struggling in their own community who are in need of help.
