THE WILD-MAN'S WILD FRIENDS VIDEO SERIES - EPISODE 36 - PINFISH

Since I would rather at least catch something when I go saltwater fishing than nothing, the Pinfish is a good friend of mine.

The Pinfish (Lagodon rhomboides) is an excellent little fish that can be found in the shallow saltwater on the Atlantic Ocean side of Mexico and the United States. I frequently catch them when I go to South Padre Island. Periodically I catch other fish as well, but the Pinfish is one of my most common shallow-water catches when I am fishing from the shore.

The Pinfish is also called a "Piggy Perch" by the local fishermen and can be found from the shallows near the coast to waters about 50 feet deep. Since they are a smaller fish, they are a food source for Red Drum, Grouper, and Dolphins. Many anglers will use the Pinfish as bait for other fish, whether whole or as cut bait. I try to keep the videos for aquatic creatures shorter since I don't want to cause them too much stress, so enjoy the episode.

The information is the video is original but I did have a quick refresher from this source.
