This began as an attempt to recreate M.C. Eschers Circle Limit IV: Heaven and Hell, but as Escher said, it is extremely difficult to do.

After a great deal of patience and deliberation, and usually a seemingly endless series of failures, a line is finaly drawn, and it looks so simple that an outsider cannot possibly imagine how difficult it was to obtain. - M.C. Excher from 29 Master Prints

I kept lowering my goal until I just had a witch based pattern. Originally, I was going to include Dorothy, but I will save that for another post.

I needed to start off with a symmetric vector based witch I could easily duplicate and scale.

From there I was able to make the following patterns.
