Hello Steemians, I bring to you another episode of my interview in which I get to ask some technical Steem questions and also bring you closer to your witnesses. For this episode's interview, I bring to you @roelandp, A steemian who has a great passion for the Steem blockchain, a steemian who works tirelessly at the witness level, [mobile app] developer, as well as a reputable witness. This episode promises to be educating, and interesting . Be sure to sit tight and grab a cup of coffee while reading through this great interview
Meet at @roelandp
@jamesmovic - Who introduced you to steemit and what was your motive for joining?
@roelandp - A friend of mine introduced me to it via a facebook share. I was interested in joining because the $ sign on the trending page intruiged me and I did not completely understand the gist of it. Being curious of nature I decided to join. Seeing I had started about half a year before joining Steem with ether mining (stopped long ago already) I found it interesting Steem was also a blockchain.
@jamesmovic - How many times do you think its appropriate for a newbie to post per day?
@roelandp - I dont have a clear opinion on this. Just don't spam.
@jamesnovic - What communities are you supporting and how?
@roelandp - You can see my delegations by going to SolicitingPower.com and use the top-left menu, "Search User" > roelandp and see my delegations listed there. My delegations are dynamic and can change at any time.
@jamesmovic - Can you tell us why you decided to become a witness?
@roelandp - I have a long term experience as server administrator, like command line and build GUI / fun apps on top of the Steem APIs at first. It was by doing this that I got more and more interested in at first running my own node for maintaining my own backend and morphed into becoming a validating block signer afterwards.
@jamesmovic - Can you tell us how your feel about it (witnessing) now?
@roelandp - I don't understand what there is to feel particularly. I find it beautiful that the software enables people from across the planet to express their thoughts, visions and passions.
@jamesmovic - What exactly does "voting for a witness" means to you,and do you think it is necessary for all steemians to vote, most especially for you?
@roelandp - Voting for a witness is something anyone must do. Every bit of SP counts. Express your choices in whom you find eligible to maintain the blockchain.
@jamesmovic - What are your thoughts on the possibiltiy of there being a new "Steem 2"?
@roelandp - Well, there are already many social media inititatives. Each with their own specifics.
Golos = Russian Steem. And then some microblogging services on Ethereum for example
@jamesmovic - Is there anything you would like to say on your own, without me asking the question?
@roelandp - thank you.
@jamesmovic - Any advice you would wish to give to my fellow steemians[ newbies] who are feeling dejected one way or the other due to low upvotes?
@roelandp - Steem is not only for upvotes. Most importantly the Steem chain allows you to express yourself, your voice, free of censorship and enables you to get your message heard anywhere on the planet, it can't be blocked. You can learn from more than a million people. Please don't abuse the Steem chain, it's rewards system, love the community and you will be loved.
@jamesmovic - What impression do you have about this interview and what do you feel about it?
@roelandp - The interview was ok, thx.
-.thanks for your time and thanks for honoring my invitation
