Meet Our Witnesses - @liondani

By far the most important choice you will make on Steemit is who you nominate to be witnesses. Everyone has 30 witness votes to place and should take the time to learn about the many great witnesses on this platform. Over the course of the next month I will be introducing you to many of the witnesses here in our community and trying to get to know each one of them a little better. Often time we just see usernames and don't really know the people behind the @ symbol. So I've decided to do what I can to shed some more light on who are witnesses are and why they deserve our votes. If you are completely new to the witness process, go check out the Steemit FAQ Page. If you aren't sure how to vote for witnesses, go check out the Witness Page. On that page you can click on any of the top witnesses names to find out a little more information about them. If you want to see other witnesses outside the top 50, you can check out the SteemDB Witness Page. I can't stress this enough, Every steemian needs to take some time and get to know who our witnesses are and what they are doing to help make the Steem community better.

Today I want to talk about a longtime witness here on our platform and one of the more mysterious witnesses as he hasn't written a whole lot of information about himself. I would like everyone to meet Daniel Schwarz, who goes by the username @liondani. He originally came to the platform in April 2016 and if you scroll through his page you might be scrolling for hours because he loves to resteem post. This speaks to the generosity @liondani has shown while on the platform, as he even went so far as to unvote himself and voted for another witness, giving up his top 20 spot. Daniel is originally from Germany, but has lived in Greece for most of his life. He has a beautiful woman and 2 children and works part time as a casino dealer. Before finding his passion in crypto currency, @liondani was an avid poker player. Nowadays when he isn't doing his thing on the steemit platform he enjoys listening to Greek music. Below is one of his favorite songs.

The following is a complete transcript of our interview. I want to give a huge thank you to @liondani for taking the time to answer these questions. Although we have never met in person, he seems like a very down to earth, warmhearted individual, who generally cares about steem and all the users on the platform. I hope you enjoy our conversation.

  • If you could give advise to new users just starting out on steemit, what would it be?

Just enjoy the platform, make new friends, be authentic all the time and help how ever you can... Rewards and reputation will come naturally sooner or later...

  • Some people have called crypto currency the internet 2.0 while other think it is just a hiccup in evolution, what are your thoughts on the future of crypto?

It's already obvious that Crypto will replace our current economic system (fiat). But it will also totally disrupt everything we know in regards on any transactions we have with each other on all kind of activity's. Blockchain technology will be used for entertainment, business, politics (voting etc.), medicine, health, insurance, research, movie industry and whatever you can think of. It is the ultimate tool for humanity to enjoy freedom but very sadly at the same time it can be used to enslave us to the minority that could take control of it in the future...

  • What is one thing that most people don't know about you?

Why a canceled our plane tickets and didn't come to Steem Fest 2 in Lisboa for example... (?)

  • What makes you from different witnesses in the steemit community?

Obvious we are all different. I don't want to compare myself. I prefer to let that question answered from your readers...

  • Besides being heavily invested in steem, what other crypto currencies do you fancy?

Of course EOS from Dan Larimer, BAT (Basic Attention Token),BTS (bitshares),MKR (Maker DAO),ETH (ethereum), LBC,ZEPH (Zephyr) Bitspark remittance network. I like other projects also but I am not invested currently on them.

  • When you are not in front of your computer helping the steemit community, what other hobbies do you have?

Spending time with my family, listening to music, "drinking coffee" with friends, walking, reading.

  • If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Unlimited Steem Power

  • With some of the current problems steemit faces, I.e. Whale circle jerking, pool draining, bot votes etc and some radical backlash by the likes of @berniesanders, what, if any solutions do you see?

Only solution is the community to grow.... I like @berniesanders ... in reality he helps us growing

  • Financial advice aside, what ceiling value do you think steem has in terms of price?

Steem has the most activity of all blockchains (almost 1M transactions per day!) see http://www.blocktivity.info/ so it should be at least top 10 crypto at all time aka minimum 2.5 billion market cap. So I expect the price to increase minimum 10X the next months aka $10/steem at least. Don't forget behind steem is not only steemit. There are projects like utopian, dtube, dsound, chainbb, steepshot, esteem, busy and so many others still undiscovered!!!

  • Being a witness takes a lot of time and energy, how do you keep a balance between this and other commitments?

That's the problem, I still don't keep effectively balance of "my" time... Not much sleep, not much time for family and sport activity like I had in past... I must change that for sure! Maybe I fork myself

Once again I would like to give a huge thanks to @liondani for having this conversation with me and also for introducing me to some new music that I have never heard before. The following video is of Ukraine's Got Talent, where Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh rocks the stage to some amazing sound imitations. Give it a listen, you will not be disappointed.
