Thriving through a Symbiotic Equilibrium
DIP | Delegate & Revoke Delegations

Greetings!

In accordance with DIP initiative that was announced lately by Steemit Inc., we would like to request funding to work on two of the most anticipated and requested features by the community. This will elevate the utility of the Steem wallet and prevent users from having to look elsewhere to do what we believe should be considered as some of the basic and fundamental things on Steem. So without further ado:

https://github.com/steemit/wallet

1- The first addition that we will be working on is adding the ability for users to directly delegate from the wallet. The idea here is pretty much straightforward as almost everyone is familiar with what a delegation means.

2- The second addition that we will be working on is adding a delegation page that contains key information such as the list of delegatees and expiring delegations. The delegations page would also allow users to revoke their delegations without venturing outside of the wallet.

  • The list of delegators will not be included since the current RPC nodes do not have a method to fetch incoming delegations. The only other way to effectively provide such information is to use a dedicated solution or relay on a 3rd party provider which is not ideal. Work will evenly be needed to add a method to fetch incoming delegations similar to the method used for outgoing delegations.
Time Frame

If green-lighted, development is expected to take from 15 to 20 days.

Budget

We are requesting 4800$ to fund our operations that include:

  • Setting the infrastructure and needed environments.
  • Studying the code and check for project conventions regarding styles, component codes, file and folder structure.
  • Implement the code changes following the conventions of the project.
  • Post-changes software compatibility testing.
  • Reviews, corrections, final tests, and pull request.
