@castellano witness, aims to represent the users of the language and the myriad small projects with sustainability potential (but no means to invest) in hopes of creating a bridge between bigger projects and the user base to increase retention and educate steemians and encourage re-investment of their rewards to avoid extraction mining.
We have a council that tries to help and promote support to serious projects and to mediate between users to avoid flagwars
We aim to call for the small to medium stake that exists among the Spanish speaking users to consider trying to put their stake to good use supporting the minnow user base while still having a ROI, by proposing tools adapted to the economical realities within our environment.

610 active users support our deeds yet only 762 MV are behind them and most of those belong to the first 20 voters who are mostly other witnesses and some respected members of the community.
Many dolphins and orcas swim in the Spanish waters, yet the average post payout is 0.004 $ according to steeemistry site.
This is hindering user retention, and the best ones are driven away for the lack of rewards and the unbalance that bidbots create in the fair opportunities for good content to be discovered.
From the castellano umbrella we try to propose tools for curators to avoid the useless trending page like this one Post curation tool and to support projects with proposals for building a strong future for the platform and encourage quality and commitment; like:
@celfmagazine CAH, @steemitfiction, @reveur , @votovzla, @delega, @provenezuela
Sadly since we (as a community) lack the means to increase significantly the stake dedicated to the area most projects remain on the verge of failure and we loose valuable users that could otherwise contribute to the development and growth of steemit to its whole potential.
We aim to create bridges between the Share-holders, the projects management and the minnows, and invite you to discover our activities and consider supporting not us... The language.
The reality of Spanish in STEEMit is that there is less than 1 Million SP curating in the language and is it second most active language, despite that the user base is very active and it is mainly composed of educated A level professionals as it is an attractive income supplement in south american economical reality.
End of general Witness update
This is a syndication of a comment as they tend to get lost in the nesting and forgotten after posts have paid out. And this is an important discussion to open as what middle / big stake-holders do with their stake directly impacts the image we are showing to the rest of the platform.
It appeared originally in this post: Deserves To Be On Trending? What Is Trash and What Is Not?.
Open letter to @dineroconopcion from at least a part of the Spanish community
I don't mean to attack you, i am aiming at showing you the way to actually help the community and earn their respect
if you are so commited to the community and you speak spanish, and you want to give back, how come you are not part of the projects that are actually working for the community?
For example, there are about 90 small curation projects and about 10 viable ones, struggling with little to no SP trying to develop Spanish user base and user retention.
I run myself a witness node @castellano aimed to represent the users which you are not supporting (you have the right to not do it it is your choice) there is also another Hispanic witness @moisesmcardona that could use your boost...
Maybe you are not aware that those projects exist and that they could use your support which in turn will bring you the gift of respect and support from the community.
You know a lot about markets and investment, positive debt... You know it settles the scales and builds trust...
Do you know your stake is about the highest independent stake in the Spanish language?
Do you know how much we fought to have lince work for the community?
Do you know that @ausbitbank delegates or follow votes at least 2 spanish projects that i know off, maybe more... (and they are not the big big big one... are small ones which promise, also none are mine, he mostly ignores my deeds, but hey... that is his choice)
Might i ask you to consider looking into all those projects and see if you can earn money by actually helping build the community?
Do not trust me do your detecting (as detectives do) and choose...
Also i make BOTs a lot of them, mostly for free to projects that help build the stake and user base in Spanish, do you want one to put all your stake to good use ?
I will make it for free, but needs to be fair, ethic and give back.
I know you got your STEEM at a high price you spent 100k for about 16K worth of steem...
It understandable that you want to avoid loosing money, come on help us build Spanish, help us pimp and make grow the stake of the little guys...
Let's work together to make STEEM worth more than what you paid for.
I've seen your videos and I know you advice to invest money one doesn't need so i am sure you have all the time in the world to hodl that steem while multiplying it in a responsible way...
You can also be part of those who made STEEM great again...
Trump pun intended :P
Just some facts:
- Spanish users represent about 20% of the user base.
- Spanish users from the Americas are the most active ones as the small rewards they get are enough
- Spanish users are mostly producing quality content because of the economical realities Hispanic users live in allow doctors and lawyers to seek an income complement in the platform.
I guess it is faster to sell your votes to smartsteem and you are an investor, those are your choices.
I would like to close by asking you for a voice meeting over the tool of your choice, ginabot will let me know of your reply.
thanks for reading until here.
hope to speak to you soon.
Best regards

Lincitos, el tag spanish y castellano lo utilizamos para resaltar que el nodo trabaja aqui, aunque el post este en ingles calmen el exceso de celo ;-) Que es importante para tus recompensas que los gringos lo lean.
