pennsif.witness Witness Campaign Post

After over five years on the blockchain and almost 500 editions of Steem News now it is time for Pennsif to become a witness.

Why the penguin and not the fox?

That's a whole different story for another day.

In the meantime read on to find out more about Pennsif's Plans as a Steem Witness.

Who is pennsif.witness?

I am @pennsif from Wales in the UK.

Since first arriving on Steem in June 2017 I have been involved in a wide range of projects and communities including the Homesteaders Community, MSP Waves, A Dollar A Day, Promo Steem, the SoS Forums...

I am perhaps most well known for the regular Steem News, and pre-fork as a show host on MSP Waves.

Researching and writing Steem News several times a week, as well as producing Witness Weekly, keeps me very up to date with what is happening across the Steem blockchain.

Through compiling over 450 editions of Steem News and conducting almost 500 interviews on my various MSP shows I have got to know a large number of Steemians from many communities and many countries.

From all this I believe I have a good idea of how Steem works, and hopefully how Steem could work better.

As a witness I hope I can play a greater part in helping Steem grow to surpass its former highs and become the number one social crypto platform where everyone can thrive and prosper.

@pennsif.witness is my witness.

My Witness Mission

In conventional terms I am more a Community Witness than a Developer Witness.

Although, working in a very technical business environment, I am hoping I can be something of a Fusion Witness blending some technical blockchain knowledge with a large amount of community know-how.

As a witness my primary goal is to see growth across the whole platform through robust communication at all levels and targeted high yield developments with the resources available.

A large part of my work will be continuing to develop the communication outlets I already run like Steem News and Witness Weekly, as well as expanding into a number of new channels that will be announced over the coming weeks.

On the development front I have a number of ideas that have been simmering in the background for some time. Now I am looking to collaborate with developers to make these ideas happen. Stay tuned.

Infrastructure

These are the technical specifications of my initial Witness Node...

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • 64Gb DDR4 ECC
  • 2 x 512 GB NVMe SSD (RAID)

I intend to add a Full API Node to my witness offering in the very near future.

Communication

As a new witness especially, I believe regular communication is all important.

I am therefore planning to produce a weekly witness update.

I am also happy to talk with anyone on the platform about their ideas, worries, questions or suggestions for Steem.

My Discord Door is always open at Pennsif#9921.

Vote for pennsif.witness

Everyone on Steem has 30 votes to give to the witnesses they believe will most help the platform.

No matter how much Steem Power you have in your wallet, big or small, your witness vote is important.

If you believe I can help Steem grow, and help Steemians thrive and prosper, I would be delighted if you would give one of your 30 votes to @pennsif.witness.

To cast your vote visit the Steemit Wallet Witness Voting list (top right corner of the Steemit page)...

Until my witness makes it into the Top 100 you will need to scroll to the first box at the bottom of the page and type in pennsif.witness.

Once I am in the Top 100 you will just need to find me on the list and click the up arrow next to the number on the left.

You will need your active key for witness voting.

You can also vote for witnesses through Steemchiller's Steemworld...

Thank you for reading this, and thank you for voting for my witness if you do.

I look forward to being the best Steem witness I possibly can.

For the technical set-up of my witness server I have been very greatly assisted by @rexthetech of the @steemwow witness team.

Big, big thanks to Rex - he has been very helpful and is extremely knowledgeable about servers and all things blockchain.

Do consider giving a witness vote to @steemwow as well.
