Another month has come and gone. It’s time for Witness Chat #6 in the Steemit Ramble discord server Saturday August 18th at 11am EDT / 3pm UTC.
These chats are a designed to bring together the community and the witnesses who keep the blockchain functioning. As members of the community, we are supposed to place our votes wisely to determine which of the witnesses rise through the ranks and which don’t. Every vote counts.
Recently Steemit Inc has announced that Hardfork 20 is expected to be released in September. Yesterday a timeline for the release of SMTs was announced.
Both of these announcements are exciting but, what do they mean for the blockchain and the community? What should we be celebrating and what should we be concerned about? What can we do to prepare for these changes? Those are all questions which can and should be discussed.
At the last chat, we talked about the decaying witness vote proposal. I’ll be hoping to hear the status of that proposal.
Over the course of the first five chats, a total of thirty-one witnesses representing twenty-six witness accouts have participated in the chats. There are currently about 130 active witness accounts.
