Dear Supporters,
Women Empowerment has a lot of progress in last few months. As the founder, I have very confidence in the development of the project as a lot of steemians loved the idea to empower underprivileged women in Bangladesh. I @Azizbd believes that helping with education and training create the best legacy and help long term to support a person, a family and a community ultimately.
Recently we received 28 SBD from two of our supporters @R2cornell and 2 SBD from @betterperson . We powered up all the donation for the development of the business project. The donation helped us to grow on steemit and we are so glad to have any kind of support.
We met a lot of women in our locality who have wished to get training if it is free to access. Women from slums work with lower paid jobs and work which has a risk of abuses. But there is a way to give them a better life if we can train them handicraft work and sewing.
Sewing has a good demand in our area than other areas in Sylhet city because of available women workers. We are focusing on the future development of the project. We will invest to open a workstation where these women will work to make clothes and also take orders. Also, some of the women have wished to work at home with their own sewing machine. We will able to support them so they find workload even if they work at home too.

The training supports 10-12 women since 9 January 2018 to come from slums and get training from our paid expert trainers. To ensure economic growth and bring equal opportunity for women and girls and bring them in the main form of economic progress of the country, empowerment of women is a necessary task.
The objectives of the social business project are:
- To eradicate gender inequalities and empower and support women by focusing Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG5).
- To develop social business to expand training facility and run the project independently.
Backgroud of the Social Business idea:
Women and girls at Ghashitula, Sylhet and nearby area often experienced domestic violence against women, which mostly can be seen in lower income families. When they are under parents' supervision or even after marriage they do not get rest from such violence. SDG5 target is crucially important to achieve to reduce such violence by empowering women and girls. Girls aged between 12 and 18 who are going to school because of household chores and financial problem can enhance their skill, education within the project. Their work will be marketed to local businesses. Such facilities will help them to get payment for their effort and contribute to their family income. Guardians will not take decision to give early marriage or girls can even show excuse against it. We have experienced with a lot of girls who got married before 16 years old.
In 2016 when I was not able to stop child labour in my slum area, I decided to empower unemployed underprivileged women which can help stop child labourer in turn. Many women can't find chance to get training for free even when they want it. Educating them properly is more important task.
27 November, 2016: Mohammed Abdul Aziz ( @Azizbd ) was collecting data by visiting different slums. I was looking for girls and women who are unemployed and has desire to work with @WomenEmpowerment. Our first training class was held on 8 January 2017 with around 20 women.
Recently we shifted our training place and we are no arranging our regular training at @SchoolForSDG4 campus. The campus is also under construction and we will have a new room as rent which is ready for us. In the below video you can see how women are working and outside of our school campus.
