THE LITTLE CONFUSION

There are little confusion that seemed to be difficult to tackle especially some people mistaken words in our discipline as if the words mean same. "If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; If what is said is not what is meant, Then what ought to be done remains undone". Confucius how can a man/woman who studied Economics mistaken these words as if there are same? Why? There is Problem or Wahala!

For an individual who knows the face of the economy of a given geographical location, he/she must clearly defined the above words. Otherwise, Nigeria's economy will remain in technical Recession.

(a) Economics: /noun/ Is a field of studies that deals with economicrelated activities which is strictly offered in an accredited institutions, colleges, and advanced programmes for effective and efficient management of limited available resources coupled with unlimited wants or desires of mankind. I remain to be corrected! E.g. University of University offers Economics as a course.

(b) An Economist: /noun/ is a person whereby an institution approved he/she has passed the prescribed exams and interviews required by the law of establishing such entity to practice economics. e.g Prof. Okey Onuchuku is an Economist in Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt.

(c) Economy: /noun/ Is the total or aggregate production of goods and services of a place or geographical location of a given place over a period time usually a year(s). Choba's Economy, Oil Mill's economy, China's Economy, Ghan's economy etc.

(d) Economies: /noun/ Is the plural of 'Economy' that is collection ofdifferent economic activities in different places and time. This could be local, national and international related economic activities. e.g, Ozuoba's economy, Choba's economy; Ahoada's economy, Rivers State economy, Nigeria's economy and United State of American's economy. When all are put together in terms of comparison different economic activities can be liken to economiesdepending on the parlance and contextual meaning.

(d) Economic: /Adjective/ it is a word that describe, qualify, modify any economic activities. e.g. economic man, who does not have interest on human welfare rather what he/she focuses on is how to make his money even if his people die or not does not concern him.Therefore, let's take note of the said words before we find ourselvesin a trash or blunder. Moreover, is important to economics' Students.
