The beginner's mind is a very peculiar place we know too well, Although it shouldn't be confused with the beginner state. The beginner's state is sometimes subject to jest. so often we have heard the term "noob" used to tag someone for ridicule.

Even in the western part of Africa, we have a popular phrase like "are you a learner?"
It's normal to become uncomfortable in ignorance. We get eager to leave a beginner state that sometimes we lose the beginner's mind. That hunger and thirst for more knowledge slowly fades away.

Ignorance can a very nervous place to be, the feeling of not knowing something can be unsettling, some people even pretend to know something so they don't seem ignorant.

If care is not taken, the fear of ignorance can rob us of the opportunity to truly learn something new.

In fact, embracing ignorance, in the sense that, you can never know everything, can be Instrumental in learning faster. The beginner's mind know this too well, it has nothing to prove so its ever ready to be open and soak up knowledge.

How can one Leave the beginner's state but still keep the beginner's mind? This can be achieved by closely observing the mind and our own learning process. We were all beginners at a point or the other.

Each time we learn something new, it's an opportunity to tap into the beginner's mind. It's all about maintaining the same mindset and hunger for knowledge that we once had.

Sometimes when we become familiar with a particular knowledge, it becomes easy to be dismissive and hold on to former notions.

The beginner's mind is expanded further in Zen philosophy, which deals with maintaining a childlike and clean state of mind.
