John The Barman, the bar like no other.

There are many exclusive bars and clubs around the world, places where the membership reads like a who’s who of the people that run the world. To become a member more often than not is down to who you know as they are the ones that sorts out your membership. The oldest and most exclusive of these establishments tend to be found in England and mainly in the London area. These Gentlemen’s clubs are where societies rich and powerful go to unwind or work at the real business of keeping the world’s economy turning.
Yet all these places are a pale imitation of a run down, city centre bar in a north east of England. The bar doesn’t need a list of members or security on the door. Anyone can drink there, it’s just that only a very special type of customer can actually enter through the doors.

Many of those other clubs members were very smart older men who, if you upset them could whisper in the right peoples ears and you would disappear. John on the other hand, who owned the bar, could make it so you reappeared in any of the after-worlds that mankind had dreamt up with the top man ready to give you a personal guided tour. When it came to having the most influential customers John won hands down as those other clubs membership in the end always answered to the customers of John's bar.

John ran a bar for the divine and supernatural, a place where angels and demons sat side by side at the end of their work day to have a drink and talk about the stupidity of humans. Every devine creature had a story and John had heard them all, from the oldest gods to the modern. John knew about Death's attempts at online dating and Lucifers love of dance, of why Thor had grown old yet the Valkyriess stayed young.

John the Barman is the story of a day in the life of the strangest bar in any world, it lifts the lid on what the divine really get upto when they're not at work.

The comedy short story will be coming to steemit once I get all the disclaimers signed that no action will be taken from the divine community. As usual Lucifer will be the last to sign as he searches for small print that isn't there.
