Thor Heyerdahl was a person making evidence of how the people have moved in the Pacific Ocean. He used a boat called for Kon-Tiki!
Thor Heyerdahl was an adventurer coming from Larvik in Norway. He has an upper secondary school with his name within. There is a statue of Thor Heyerdahl in Larvik, and his scientific discoveries made the earth being a little place! It is a global village independently of where you are!
Thor Heyerdal was born in 1914 and he died in 2002. He was educated at the highest level as an ethnographer and a zoologist. Hence, he was a scientist, and he wanted to use his knowledges and research background to test out original theories. He was a controversial figure, and he was remembered and perceived as being new on cultur contact and culture dissemination. Thor Heyerdahl meant that there is always a point of using the human brain as good as its capacity is. He was honored by several awards, and he had a position at University of Oslo (UiO). Thor Heyerdahl is internationally recognized as the greatest and most known Norwegian through all times.
Thor Heyerdahl made several discoveries in his life, and now we are focusing on the case of Kon-Tiki! Heyerdahls ideas did not make any much thinking and empirical support in the different environments. He meant that the Indians used a balsa to reach the Polynesia, and that they travelled over the Pacific Ocean in this way. In 1947, he built and used a balsa to try to find evidences for this hypothesis. He did the discoveries on his own, and he sailed 8 000 kilometers over the Pacific Ocean from South-America to Tuamotu Archipelago. He was not alone in this fleet, and there were 5 additional people around Thor on Kon-Tiki. The other 5 persons were Erik Hesselberg (1914-1972) as a navigator, Knut Haugland (1917-2009) as an expert on the radio and giving and receiving messages, and he was engaged on the heavy water raid at Vemork, Torstein Raaby (1918-1964) as a radio expert using his talents during Second World War, Herman Watzinger (1916-1986), he was second in command and a student at NTH in Trondheim, but he cut he studies and joined the expedition, and last but not least Bengt Danielsson (1921-1997), and Bengt made food and he could speak Spanish!
Today, we have a museum for Kon-Tiki in Oslo. And Thor Heyerdahl made several books and articles, also about the Kon-Tiki expedition! Thor Heyerdahl has been used to much, and he told us on Norwegian TV in 1994 at Lillehammer that «The history of the Winter Olympic Games (OL) has shown us that we should appreciate doing things in ice and in snow!». Many enjoyed Thors life, and he was not afraid of doing anything! And freedom in thinking, feeling and actions was always important! We should accept diversity in all, and there is always a point of using precision in business and in research life! The power is always in our bodies and our potential!
The name Kon-Tiki is a religious name, named after a God using for some group of people! We should always accept peoples standpoints, and that people believe and not believe in their lives and in reality! But there are many people being religious at the earth! And there are many things in the universe, and Thor meant that life should be understood without borders, and when we are thinking we should use our individual freedom to reflect on what is going on. All people mean that there is a force in your body, but we are different in believing something outside ourselves and something inside ourselves. There are just bodies in the whole world, and the infinity of the universe often implies that people believe in a God, and the God can be whatever!
