Grab Followers, Get Votes, Earn Steem

Each day I am growing as a writer here on Steemit. Steemit gives you freedom to write what you like but if you are looking to appeal to an audience, to be successful by that measure, you need to give your audience articles they are interested in. Not clickbait but high quality content that increases the value of Steem for all.

So what tools can you use to analyse how your write and your writing progress?

Steemdb

This slick site by @jesta is great for stats about your account. But you can also use it to look at other accounts. Learn what the pros are doing.

Ask yourself questions such as

  • If you are watching your post and suddenly it goes hot or trending or your balance jumps. Find out whats happened. Head over to Steemdb and see who just voted for you. I just got a vote from @dokeypong, I have heard that name before :)

The site steemdb also has some very interesting stat tables and leaderboards at https://steemdb.com/labs

esteem

This is an app for your phone. The great thing about this app by @good-karma is that it gives push notifications to your phone. Get Votes, Mentions, Followers, Comments to pop up in real time. If you get a new follower you can engage with them immediately by going to their page and following them back. Or respond to comments as soon as they happen.

What-Tags

Find out what are your followers writing about? This is a good indication about what they would like to read about.
This is a new site which just posted recently and it produces lovely frequency bar charts and bubble plots of what tags your followers are using in the recent posts.

Trending Topics

Tags on a post should be relevant but also popular. Check out popular Steemit post tags at https://steemit.com/tags for inspiration and to see what is trending. To get the most exposure you may want to pick a popular tag or one with a high payout, but to reach niche markets pick an appropriate one.

Analyse your account history

Another app by @jesta https://steemstats.com/ lets you montior your account history in more detail. There are two very useful parts of this page for me:

  • where you can see the distribution of payouts for your posts (SP, SBD)
  • where you can see who has voted on your recent posts and whether your following them or not.

To succeed give your readers what they want but be strong, never go against your principles or lower your standards!

Thank you for reading this. I write on Steemit about Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Travel and lots of random topics.
