The only constant in the multiverse is change, every bit of time and space is subject to it. Even a purpose, such a deep meaning standing in the core of our hearts and still challenging us to do more.
Having the previous words in mind, lets talk about this new stage for @drophead!
The team that is giving life to @dropahead has discussed "vision & mission" for the last two months, with the purpose of starting our way to become a project. It was challenging because we are very diverse in culture, language, age and geography, since we are spread across multiple countries from two oposite continents. We had to use Spanish and English to share our thoughts! And nobody is native English speaker but is was a great bridge language! (when using compact phrases and easy words).
For those familiar with "vision & mission", retreats and the like, you know it takes hard work and time. Many executives don't do it for ignorance or because they consider it expensive (not worth investing on it), but good founders know that it is a great investment, although it will take years for us to see any ROI.
"What are we?"
That is a good question for any person belonging to an organization. If you are an employee, make sure to ask it to the company owners and to the executives as well. Yet you should trust the owners answer the most ;)
For us it seemed not necessary to ask such question, since @develCuy already provided a clear path from the very beginning. The truth is that purpose was known by all team members but it required adjustments. After initial discussion we arrived to these four keywords:
- Dolphin
- Dream
- Mentoring
- Journey
Such words helped us to understand each other's vision on what we are and what we are supposed to do. We want all our members to reach the dolphin level (without excluding bigger mammals of course!). Both the members and the team need mentoring, for becoming better writers and better curators. And we all are in this journey to achieve the "STEEM dream".
You could read it as "Your dolphin dream is our mentoring journey". Nice eh?
The motto: "Supporting people in their STEEM journey"
What is a motto in the first place? There is an ideal answer: "It is the core of the vision & mission, a phrase easy to learn by everyone so that it inspires to fulfill the mission". The answer for us is more practical, @dropahead is still very young. No organization is built in a year so we can't pretend to polish a full page of untested ideals not deeply shared by everyone in the core of the organization. We prefer to have a simple phrase that will seed our future. Someday we'll be big enough to build an appropriate vision & mission, and we'll celebrate such day!
Once that we had a doable target, we proposed several motto candidates. The decision was taken after two rounds of voting. Yeah, democracy works sometimes!
Remember that we use Spanish and English to chat? Well... we are glad to announce that chosen motto option was proposed by @lpessin, who is on charge of curating Portuguese content!
dropahead Project
Incubation stage has finished! From now on, we are not just a team, nor a witness intent alone, rather we are an organization that has just born! Today 17th February 2018 is our actual birthday.
Come celebrate with us! Because we are here to honor our motto and it means that if you need support in your STEEM journey, we are here to help!
