Do you have a Youtube Channel? Are you monetizing your videos? Or do you have plans to start your own Channel with some original content? Stop right there here is something you should know.
Earning through Youtube won't be easy like it used to be, as the latest update from Youtube says you need 4000 hrs of watch time + at least 1000 subscribers to be eligible to a Youtube partner effective from February 20th, 2018.
Omg, what should we do now? Is Youtube being mean towards newbies? WTF is this, what am I supposed to do now?
Well, I would say this means Good news and Bad news:
Bad news: Getting 1000 subscribers isn't easy at all, It takes a lot of videos and hard work to reach that milestone until you go viral. And goddamnit, 4000 hrs of watchtime, unless your videos are pretty lengthy and are seen over and over again by them viewers we have a serious problem, short video upload ers will suffer the most out of this.
Good News: And the good news is once you hit this milestone you won't have to look back, Of course it takes a lot of effort to achieve both watchtime and subscribers, I will tell you why Youtube is doing this:
Since there are billions of Youtube channels It is very difficult for Youtube to deliver ads on every single Channel's videos. And the advertisers who bid for ads need to ensure their ads are delivered to "Quality Channels Only". When the new rule is applied the number of eligible channels to show ads and earn will be narrowed down, by this Youtube, Ad networks and Channel owners benefits the most out of this new system as relevant and quality ads will be delivered and it will be a win-win for all involved parties.
Okay I am just a beginner, I don't have so many subscribers, how can I speed up to 1000 Subscribers and Increase my watch time Is there a hack that you can recommend?
Yes, I can and here It is:
- Use Google Adwords: Spend some money promoting your videos as ads, If you are really serious about your channel and you are sure that you are producing quality videos you should definitely do this as you want to speed up your channel's growth. I have tried this for my clients and this absolutely works! If you can't do this yourself, hire someone like me:D I can get it done for some SBD or Steem :)
- But I don't have money to do that? Okay you are here on Steemit, you can use @dtube which have the potential to give you more than Youtube in the long run, I agree all niche audiences are not yet active on Dtube but we all know eventually that's gonna happen.
- Upload lengthy videos so people would get engaged with your videos and watchtime would Increase.
- Do proper tagging, write cool descriptions, Include keywords in titles, descriptions and tags so that your video might rank for those keywords and you will get more views from Youtube search.
So the bottom-line is Stop worrying about what happened and move forward, see what you could do to Improve yourself and build more out of existing opportunities.
