Process of painting:

In the first stage of the work, a lot of oil paint was placed on canvas in such a way that when the paint was eventually completely dry, the surface of the painting remained rough to the touch. After that, the light blue color was used as a base, remaining some fields of first light color visible.

After a few random coatings the composition continued to grow in blue-red contrast, which in itself does not create harmony, just the opposite: it brings some discomfort and irritation. The eye persistently seeks the green color to calm down red one, but there is only blue catching the eye of the observer (blue is just β€˜half’ of the green, so eye finds it first). Than the blue has find some comfort in orange, and the eye comes back to the red again. Gentle brightness placed on the red color somewhat softens her fireness even though that does not bring harmony to red.

The question was to leave the painting this way or not?
I like dynamics of this painting achieved by the orientation of color fields but blue and red together is not my favorite color-couple especially in such a domination over a painting.

To be continued..

Thank you for your attention!!
