Two large-format paintings that I have made two years ago and did not finish them then, now I can finally say they're done. This is one of those. It's pretty hard to finish something I worked on long ago. And that is just because it is not the same being in me, now and then. The paintings are like a mirror of myself, especially when I look at them after a long time. When I started those two paintings, it was my dark period, the time of the inner struggle, the creation of something new, the birth of me as a different person.
And it is so obvious when I look at this painting. The fighting that took place in me, the inner whirlpool was transferred, mirrored on the canvas. The acceleration is initially slower and then increases, the flow becomes turbulent. It wants to get out of the frame. Now I'm clear about what happened, but then I could only be mad, anger and paint and I did not see the way it all led. I didn’t think, I just let myself to it, dived into it. And that was good, because in the end the result was better than I thought. As in painting and in life.
