Dear artist,
In the previous lessons we first applied the decopatch and painted it in red. Then we created in another zone of the canvas the black structure with the masking tape. Today I will show you how you can make a soft transition between the red and the black zone using a sponge.
Have fun!
In case you missed the first steps, have a look here :

Here we go :
For this I used :
ā black acrylic paint
ā paintbrush
ā small sponge
To make this soft transition, you first apply a bit of paint with a paintbrush in a small zone :
Then you take the small sponge and dab with it into the fresh colour and onto the previous colour (red). It's important that you don't apply too much paint otherwise you will have thick spots instead of very fine ones. You need to dab very very often on the same place with very little colour to get the best result.
Proceed as such little zone by little zone :
As you can see I don't do it only at the transition, but everywhere on my canvas to have a uniform structure of the paint.
And this is it :
You can now see my Art project #3 getting slowly some shape. In the next 2 lessons we will decorate the lower black part with 2 different techniques.
See you soon for the other steps and discover the final result !
