Kala (Black) Ghoda(Horse) a multicultural festival is held every year in Mumbai city for a duration of around 10 to 14 days. Every year there is a theme focusing on the environment.
This year the theme has been "Go Green & Sustainability" and the next steps to Sustainability. The five elements of nature & the same connected with our human body, the depleting Green and the emergency to work towards it all have been represented very well in various art forms. Also this time the festival has been given a special name Hara (Green) Ghoda (Horse) emphasizing on the need to balance between the digital and the real world.
The Theme Horse of this Festival. The Lower body representing the highly digitally connected world and the Upper Green body connected to the Real world free from technology.
The aim of this festival is to not spread the message of not using Technology, but to bring in the balance between the Human real life and the Technology life.
Since this is a huge one, I will present it in 2 parts today & tomorrow.
The Basic 5 elements of nature; Fire, Water, Earth, Space, Air are the basics in the creation of the Universe as well as the creation of our Human body. If there is an imbalance between the 2 we will bring destruction to Mother Earth.
This picture is a beautiful depiction of how the destruction of the nature and encroachment of natural habitat is happening with the excess utilization of our natural resources.
The Rising Sun, the dispeller of darkness and the one that empowers knowledge and the good in all Life.
Depiction of National Unity, This picture represents the Indian Map and its demographic is portrayed through water as the element of nature, the spheres represents the communities, the pipes represents how we are all connected through as one nation.
Little pockets of Hope, Born from the womb of nature we are all connected with the same fine threads intertwining into each other and destined to return back to nature.
Depicting of how we are destroying the Green and we need to focus on Sustainable Environment.
This one is very unique, Thescape' Spirit. The figure represents our Nature's Soul, which is running away from our cities day after day, if we don't catch it soon and bring it back we will be left with nothing but a Black City without a Soul.
Nature has many forms, many faces, many eyes that keep looking towards us, we need to pause and take a close look and reflect how we have been causing them harm since ages.
The Horse picture spread out on 5 glasses, here there are lots of golden color tubes kept which you can use it on this glass the way you wish. The message is to get everyone Engaged to the message of this festival, bring people closer to each other. Its the reflection of the viewers observation and experience.
